Lalita Sahasranama, Krodankara Kusojvala
क्रोधाकाराङ्कुशोज्ज्वला stands as the mother divine holds GOAD (ANGER) IN HER RIGHT HAND. Krodhā: Hatred or anger,Akāra: Knowledge,Aṅkuśa: Elephant goad.
Mantra Sadhana & Benefits
Salutations to the Divine Mother, Sri Mata. She holds a noose, known as Raga Savarupa Pasadya, in her lower left hand, symbolizing the power of love. On the other hand, negative experiences can lead to Dvesha or Krodha (hatred). We experience a spectrum of emotions, from love and enjoyment to hate and anger, all mediated by our sensory organs. Sri Mata is also known as Krodankara Kusojvala. Anger can sever relationships and suppress heartfelt sentiments, but the Divine Mother governs all, wielding the goad of anger to maintain balance.
Mother Divine Sri Mata has four hands (Chatur Bahu Samanvita), one hand noose Raga Savarupa Pasadya, the other hand Goad as a Krodankara Kusojvala. However, Krodha, often understood as anger or hatred, can sometimes be interpreted as jnana (wisdom) in certain contexts. Tantric scriptures suggest that the noose and the goad signify the power of will and the power of knowledge, respectively.
Vedic Mantra Wisdom:
An individual wishing to worship the Sri Chakra must first receive initiation from a guru. This guru then imparts the devotee with either the panchadasi mantra or the sodasi mantra.
The panchadasi mantra comprises 15 bijas, divided into three sections or kutas:
- vagbhava kuta,
- kamaraja kuta,
- and sakti kuta.
Each kuta signifies a different aspect of the Divine Mother’s form. The vagbhava kuta symbolizes the face of the Divine Mother, the kamaraja or madhya kuta represents the area from below her face to her hips, and the sakti kuta corresponds to the part below her hips. To truly reap the benefits of this worship, the devotee must possess profound devotion for the Divine Mother and hold deep reverence for the lineage of gurus and their own guiding guru.
