चिन्तामणि-गृहान्तस्था STANDS as Chintamani – (wish fulfilling) geM ISLAND, Grihantastha –Devi’s abode

Mantra Sadhana & Benefits

Salutations to Mother Divine (Sri Mata) whose abode is Manidvipa the Island of wish yielding gem.

Chintamani is a gem capable of fulfilling every wish. The name suggests an inner meaning as well. House of wish fulfilling gems is ones own mind. This storehouse (the mind) possess the power to bring even the most unreachable goal within reach. That house is Devi’s abode.

In the mystical realm of Śrīmannagara, there exists a resplendent palace, its very walls woven from the fabric of Cintāmaṇi, the wish-fulfilling gem. This precious jewel transcends mere materiality; it embodies the essence of desire itself. Imagine, if you will, gazing upon these gem-laden walls—a vision potent enough to manifest your heart’s deepest longings.

Vedic Mantra Wisdom:

  • Within Hinduism, Cintāmaṇi is associated with deities like Vishnu and Ganesha. It graces Vishnu’s possession as the Kaustubha Mani or adorns the foreheads of celestial beings like the Naga king and the Makara.
  • The Yoga Vasistha, an ancient text, weaves a tale around this mystical gem.
  • The Vishnu Purana extols the Syamanta jewel, which bestows prosperity upon its owner and encapsulates the Yadu clan system.
  • In essence, Cintāmaṇi symbolizes rare devotion and spiritual advancement, transcending mere worldly pleasures.
  • In Japan, where the Hindu goddess Lakshmi is known as Kisshōten in Shinto, she often holds the Cintāmaṇi in her hand.
  • Cintāmaṇi, the luminous gem of desire, bridges worlds—material and spiritual. Its brilliance illuminates the path toward fulfillment, whether through whispered mantras or the yearning of the heart.
  • Cintāmaṇi finds its place in Buddhist lore as well. Bodhisattvas like Avalokiteshvara and Ksitigarbha hold it.
  • Picture it carried upon the back of the Lung Ta (wind horse) depicted on Tibetan prayer flags.
  • By reciting the Dharani (a small hymn) associated with Cintāmaṇi, Buddhists believe they attain the Wisdom of Buddha, transforming afflictions into enlightenment.
