lalita sahasranama śrimannagara nayika
श्रीमन्नगर-नायिका STANDS as ruler of prosperous and auspicious city
Mantra Sadhana & Benefits
The symbolism of Mother Divine (Sri Mata) is the ruler of beautiful, prosperous and auspicious city.
The divine city, known as Saubhagyapura, resides atop the central peak of Mount Meru, nestled amidst the ocean of nectar. This concept carries a deeper, symbolic significance. The propitious city is analogous to the Sri Chakra, with Para Shakti reigning as its sovereign.
A chakra is characterized by its revolving nature. The Sri Chakra symbolizes the rotating universe. When rendered into a physical form, the Sri Chakra transforms into the Meru Chakra. Shankaracharya, during his victorious journey, consecrated Sri Chakras in multiple locations.
Lalita Devi, embodying Parasakti, is the supreme deity of the Sri Chakra. Lalita surpasses all worldly dimensions in her existence.
Vedic Mantra Wisdom:
She reigns over the prosperous and blessed city known as Śrī Nagara. She is revered as Śrī Mātā, her sacred geometric representation is the Śrī Yantra, her spiritual knowledge is termed Śrī Vidyā, and her divine dwelling is Śrīmannagara. The prefix ‘Śrī’ signifies Chaitanya, which translates to ‘consciousness’. If we consider our body as Śrīmannagara, then she is the supreme consciousness governing within us. She resides in the Śrī-cakra, positioned at the highest chakra in our Sahasrara – Sumerumadhyaśṛṅgasthā.
There are two accounts regarding Śrī Nagara. The first is found in Durvasa’s Lalithāstavaratna, which states that Śrī Nagara was crafted by the heavenly architect, Viśvakarma. The second narrative, from Rudra Yāmala (as narrated to Pārvatī by Śiva), describes Śrī Nagara as located in the midst of the ocean of milk, potentially alluding to the Milky Way. This locale is referred to as Ratnadvīpa, an island composed of precious gems. At the heart of Śrī Nagara lies another city, Śrī Vidya, encircled by twenty-five walls. Each of these walls symbolizes a tattva. Thus, she is the sovereign of such a domain, orchestrating her three fundamental acts of creation, sustenance, and dissolution.
