lalita sahasranama Sumeru-madhya-śrngastha
सुमेरु-मध्य-शृङ्गस्था STANDS as midst of mountains called meru
Mantra Sadhana & Benefits
The symbolism of Mother Divine (Sri Mata) is the who sits on the middle peak of Mount Sumeru
The phrase Sumeru srnga madhyastha (which is also correct, with ‘Srnga’ meaning peaks) suggests that Sumeru is positioned amidst the Meru mountains. Here, in the center of the Meru Mountains, resides Vāc Devi, as stated in nāma 52, which describes Lalitai seated on the left thigh of Śiva, symbolizing the union of static and kinetic energies. The discussion now turns to her palace. The Meru mountain range features three peaks, which, when connected, form a triangle. At the center of this triangle stands a peak taller than the others, and it is here that Lalitai makes her abode.
Vedic Mantra Wisdom:
The spine is known as Merudanda, with its lower extremity being the Trikona, or the triangle, and its upper end marked by the Bindu located in the sahasrara chakra at the head. The Trikona and the Bindu together constitute the initial mandala of the Sri Chakra. The arms of this chakra are referred to as peaks, where Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva are situated. The central Bindu is also termed a peak, within which Parasakti resides. The term ‘peak’ is understood to denote a place that is challenging to access.
