Mantra Sadhana & Benefits
The symbolism of Mother Divine (Sri Mata)’s auspicious lotus feet are adorned with gem studded golden anklets that tinkle sweetl
The devas beseeched for the annihilation of the demon Bhandasura. Mahasambhu, generating chidagni – the fire of consciousness – from his third eye, facilitated the emergence of Devi. Her form, elaborately described from nama 6 to 45, becomes fully visible as she rises from the Chidagni. Surveying the assembly of Devas, now rejuvenated, and other gods, Devi’s gaze meets Parama Siva, who watches her with a tender smile. As she steps out of the Chidagni, the anklets on her feet, embellished with precious gems, produce sweet, harmonious tinkling sounds, symbolizing the Vedas (Shruti).
The addition of ‘Sri’ to Devi’s feet signifies that they are the embodiment of the esoteric Srividya. The divine Gurupaduka mantra comprises two vidyas – Kadi vidya and Hadi vidya, represented by her two feet. These mantras are imbued with sound energy. The Siñjānana – the tinkling sound, is associated with the mantras of Kadi and Hadi vidyas.
Vedic Mantra Wisdom:
Women traditionally wear and revere anklets. They hold special significance, with the varmam points at the ankles believed to alleviate various disorders related to the hips and reproductive organs in both men and women. Similarly, the wrist joints are important, which is why women traditionally have a bangle ceremony during the 5th, 7th, or 9th month of pregnancy. In ancient India, both men and women wore heavy bangles, bracelets, Kangan, kadas, and anklets, partly for this health benefit.
