lalita sahasranama – Gudh Gulpha
गूढगुल्फा STANDS as Gūḍha- hidden, Gulphā – ankles
Mantra Sadhana & Benefits
The symbolism of Mother Divine (Sri Mata) ankles are hidden. Devis ankles are hidden by hem of her garment
Her ankles, round and well-shaped, remain concealed (goodha). This name embodies the Gurupaduka Mantra bijas, which must not be disclosed to anyone.. Lalithambika is depicted sitting in the Padmasana (lotus) posture, with her ankles hidden from sight. This also echoes the tradition where women of virtue, hailing from respectable backgrounds, are expected to be fully clothed, thus not exposing parts of their body.
Vedic Mantra Wisdom:
The deeper meaning here is that She discreetly safeguards those practitioners who are journeying towards salvation. The Gurupaduka mantras should be as concealed and private as the Goddess’s ankles, which are not visible
