lalita sahasranama Kamesha baddha mangalya sutra sobhita kandhara
कामेश-बद्ध-माङ्गल्य-सूत्र-शोभित-कन्धरा (Kamesha baddha mangalya sutra sobhita kandhara) STANDS-MOTHER DIVINE, whose neck is tied with Mangal Sutra from Kamesh. Mangal Sutra denotes the unity between Siva and Sakti
Mantra Sadhana & Benefits
Mother Divine’s (Sri Mata) neck is adorned with the mangala sutra fastened thereon by her consort Kamesvara.
In the Lalitopakhyana, a section of the Brahmand Purana, Devi’s wedding is vividly described. The Devas, curious about who would be the suitable bridegroom for (Mother Divine) Devi, born from the fire of pure consciousness, tossed the wedding garland into the air, which then gracefully fell around the neck of Kamesh (Shiva). Following this divine selection, Shiva proceeded to tie the mangalyasutra around Devi’s neck, symbolizing their celestial union.
Devi is wearing a mgalya stra that Kmevara has tied. Her māṅgalya sūtra features nine layers and 27 strands, symbolizing the 27 nakshatras. Every individual is born under a specific nakshatra, a concept emphasized in Swamiji’s astrology camp. This name (nama) embeds the Sau māṅgalya mantra bijaksharas.
Vedic Mantra Wisdom:
Among the seven chakras, Visuddhi is associated with the throat and neck. Functionally, it symbolizes articulation and purity. Metaphysically, it represents the vibration modes of information. The Mangalya of Kamesha-Kameshi, adorning this neck, alludes to the Pranava Om adorning the Visuddhi Chakra. Therefore, the voice of the mother (universe) is symbolized by Om. The principal vibration mode is Om, and the purest sound is also recognized as Om
